  1. We thought that the most important issues were that Max was abusing Indie’s mum and so Indie and her family moved elsewhere without Max and Indie’s mum was feeling depressed so Indie had to take on more responsibilities and was feeling lonely. Her best friend, Jo thought that Indie was betraying her and so she found a new friend.

  2. I think that the most important issues were that Max was not a very kind person because of his abuse to Indie’s mum and when Indie, her mother and younger sister moved to a new home without Max, Indie had a big responsiblity of looking after her sister because her mother was depressed and crying all the time. Her best friend Jo turned against her because she thought that Indie was trying to be friends with Shane who Jo wanted to be better friends with.

  3. Do you think Indie’s mum should have pressed charges on Max for his abuse to her?

    • I think she should have because it wasn’t as if he was abusing her once or twice but constently and she ended up in hospital. It affected her emotionally and physically.

  4. I think that the most important issue in the book was where Anna, Indie’s mum, didn’t fully confide in her. If Indigo had known everything that had been going on, she might have been more fortunate. Another one was where Jo and Indie were not close friends. They didn’t know much about each other and only really started to know each other well in high school, the eighth year they had known each other.

Why do you think Indigo didn’t want Jo to be a deep and meaningful friend?

    • We think that Indie didn’t want Jo to be a deep and meaningful friend because Indie didn’t like how Jo was always asking her about her family and if anything bad was happening at home.

    • Well, because Jo wasn’t really a person that she understood all the time(one day she’s all down and moody, next day she’s as bright as spring)and she was one of the really ‘gossipy’ type. And if Jo had been and ‘deep and meaningful’ friend, she would have pestered Indie until she admitted what had been going on, and Indie might not have wanted to share her personal life.

I also have a question that I want answered – was Max, the man, Indie and Misti’s born father?

  5. I think the most important issue was that Anna, Indies mother, still loved Max, and so did he, but he was stalking her and trying to find out were Anna and Indie lived he was an unkind man and it was hard for Indie for not only having problems at home but with Jo because Jo thought she fancied Shane, wo she was cnstantly trying to impress Shane, I think Anna should have

  6. I think that one of the main issues where that Anna, Indies mum was fighting with Max and Max was abusing her. So Indie and her family without Max moved elsewhere. Anna was very depressed and was crying all the time and Indie wasnt really sure why. Anna didnt tell Indie and I thought that she should have because Indie would have understood what was going on and could’ve supported her mum and found help.

  7. Do you think Anna should have told Indie what was going on between her and Max?

    Comment by Catherine — May 28, 2009 @ 11:21 am |Reply

    • Yes I think she should have because Indie was getting a bit worried and she definitely needed to know.

      Comment by Amy — May 29, 2009 @ 2:05 am |Reply

    • I think Anna should have told Indie because Indie was old enough to understand but I think tat if Anna new what was going on between Jo and Indie I think she made the right desicion because then it would have made Indie’s life alot harder.

Do you think Indie and Jo should’ve let Aisha be friends with them while they were being friends after Indie had fought with Jo?
